Overview & Highlights

Nestled within the vibrant heart of West Cambridge, Caffiend of Cambridge stands out as a genuinely remarkable coffee shop that feels less like a business and more like a warm local community hub. Located at 15 JJ Thomson Ave, this Australian-inspired coffee haven offers much more than your everyday caffeine fix—it delivers an experience infused with personality, quality, and heartfelt connection.

From the moment you step up to the counter, Kash—the knowledgeable and personable barista—makes each visit feel personal. As one loyal customer, Alan Clarke, shared, “Kash doesn’t need to write your name on the cup as he knows most of Cambridge by name. Complementary conversation is served with every drink.” This intimate level of care, rare in today’s hurried world, immediately sets Caffiend apart. Here, you’re not just another customer; you’re part of a vibrant coffee-loving community.

The coffee itself is, quite simply, exceptional. Marina Avena Maia, who is picky about her lattes and hard to please, finds solace here: “Kash provides amazing coffee and is always friendly! His coffee definitely does the job!” The specialty flat white, often accompanied by a slice of zesty orange peel in an intriguing twist called an ingera, offers a refreshing detour from the standard fare—a subtle yet memorable flavor pairing that tantalizes the palate.

Frequent visitors rave about the Australian snacks and the warm atmosphere that make it easy to linger, relax, and catch up with friends or simply savor a moment of calm. Andrew Moore notes the convenient location within the West Cambridge sports center, mentioning the smooth contactless payment options and the satisfying blend of quality coffee and snacks available in this new permanent spot.

What truly lingers in the memory after visiting Caffiend is the feeling of genuine care—whether it’s sharing a friendly chat about flavor preferences, like John “j0nnymac” McNamara did over the perfect chocolate-cinnamon balance in a cappuccino, or just basking in the welcoming Australian charm that feels miles away despite being right in Cambridge. Pietro Lesci even confesses, “Genuinely, the best coffee I've found in Cambridge! I even miss it when I'm back home in Italy,” a heartfelt testament to Kash’s craft.

For anyone in or around Cambridge, especially in West Cambridge, Caffiend of Cambridge isn’t just a coffee stop—it’s an uplifting experience that brightens your day, one lovingly brewed cup at a time. Whether you’re after a morning pick-me-up, a quick chat with a friendly barista, or a unique twist on your favourite coffee, this charming spot is the place to be.

An encounter with Kash and his wonderful little Australian coffee shop will brighten up your day, guaranteed! Highly-recommended!

Great had a nice chat with barista on split between chocolate and cinnamon for cappuccino drinkers

Kash provides amazing coffee and is always friendly! Since I'm always picky about the quality of coffee, is hard to find a good latte around Cambridge, but his coffee definitely does the job! I highly recommend for anyone in West Cambridge to try it!

Genuinely, the best coffee I've found in Cambridge! I even miss it when I'm back home in Italy, which truly says it all

Now moved within the sports center. Yummy Australian snacks at the new permanent base for Caffinend At University (West Cambridge) sports center. Rather good coffee too. Kash takes contactless as well.

Kash doesn’t need to write your name on the cup as he knows most of Cambridge by name. Complementary conversation is served with every drink and the ingera (essentially a flat white accompanied with a slice of zesty orange peel) is an interesting diversion from your usual order.

Best coffee in Cambridge and makes a mean flat white! You only need to go twice and Cash will remember your name and order which you don’t get at many places! Lovely coffee and a lovely barista!
